NKOTB!!!!!!

Yes ~I went to the New Kids on The Block Concert last night..In North Carolina! Let me tell you~This was way better than the first one in 1990 that I went to ( and that was a very good concert!!!) Last night me and my mom went to see these 5 guys from Boston! I was probably the biggest new kid fan back in the day...So much that in the third grade my teacher wrote on my report card that I thought too much about the New Kids and not enough about my school work....Yeah, that's pretty embarrassing now that I think about it! Anyways the concert was great...They did all their old dances to the old songs like The Right Stuff and Hanging Tough....Jordan was my absolute favorite and he's still a hottie, Donnie is still that bad boy and he's pretty cute too....Joe, well he hasn't changed much, Danny did a break dance and Jon...Well they didn't focus on him too much. I hope you enjoy my pics...

Wall Art....and a little randomness...

So yeah...My child drew on the wall...And she was caught - by Jeff....Who told her she needed to come tell her mom and dad what she did....So she runs into the den and this is what I heard...I write on the wall mommy...My response-You what...Yeah she had a talk with daddy and hopefully next time she will write on paper and not on the walls. Other than that we had a great time Friday night...We had a house full of people and played games and ate pizza. Jarod and Jeff played Rock Band until the early morning hours. Well, Dax is cutting two teeth right now and is having a difficult time. Dax woke up around 3:30 and was awake until 6:00. He didn't want to be touched, but he wanted attention and he cried a long time and could not get happy. So at 6:00 Jarod and I close our eyes but are awake again at about 7:00...So we were pretty much awake all night. Saturday we did absolutely nothing..we don't have these days very often. I finally took a shower and put on real clothes at 2:30, made a quick trip the wal-mart, came home, changed Lani and Dax out of their p.j.'s and headed to GiGi's house for some supper. Jarod went to a bonfire and a haunted trail. Well we wake up Sunday morning and I made the comment that it sure was light outside to only be 7:00am. I turn on the TV to discover that it is really 8:00. Our alarm clock - which is called a '"smart clock" changes time on it's on when it's the change your time weekend. However, over the past few years, someone decided to change the date for time change, and caused our "smart clock" to be out dated....Well we ended up making it to church on time. This after noon I went shopping with my mother-in-law and we got Dax a new car seat...I think he is going to love facing forward...We went back to church for Trunk-or-treat and Lani won second place in the costume contest...Go Lani!!! Now ~ I have 2 sleeping babies and am looking forward to a great week....Only a few more days until New Kids On The Block!!!

What am I going to do when she turns 13????

Well this morning my 2 YEAR OLD decides to argue with me about the clothes I put on her to wear to school. Well I take that back - it wasn't so much about the clothes, it had more to do with matching. Today I decided Lani was going to wear this super cute brown shirt and a pair of jeans. It all started with the shoes. Lani did not want to wear her Nike's, but her brown shoes to match her brown shirt. I gave in on this one, because it really did look better. What was I thinking?? As I am putting her pink jacket on her, Lani begins to slightly panic. Lani says that she can't wear that jacket, because her shirt is brown and she needs a brown coat. I explain that we don't have a brown coat and that she can wear her PINK jacket. (Lani loves pink and is usually very excited about the pink coat). Lani declares...I have to match, change my shirt, I need a pink one. We are already 10 minutes later than usual! Well we get out the door with the brown shirt and pink coat, but that's all we talk about on the way to school. Constantly coming from the back seat I hear, mommy pink and brown don't match, pink and pink match, I need a pink shirt. Bless Ms. Caroline's heart, I hope she doesn't have to listen to this all day. When we get to school I inform M.s Caroline about Lani's OCD matching phase, and she is not surprised. She tells me that at lunch time, her plate, fork and cup all have to match! I'm sure that when she is older, she is going to dislike her parents, becasue we are not going to be able to afford a matching coat for every outfit!!!

Boo in the Zoo...

Has everyone seen the movie "The Christmas Story?" Does everyone remember the part where Ralphie's mom made him wear his pink bunny suit his aunt sent him for Christmas. Well ~ We watch this movie every year and absolutely love it. Well~ When we arrived at the Zoo, I was putting Dax's super cute dinosaur costume on him and he was screaming hysterically. Jarod then spoke up and said Dax was mad at me because I made him feel like Ralphie. At first I was like what are you talking about. He went on to say that Ralphie didn't like being a pink bunny and Dax doesn't like being a dinosaur. After a few minutes he stopped crying. However, he just sat in his stroller the entire time and he wasn't very vocal and he didn't move very much ( I really think he was pouting a little)...Who knows he could have been a little angry at me, but at least he was a dino and not a pink bunny!!! One thing about Boo in the Zoo....Lani was a little disappointed that the only animasl she got to see was an owl and a buzzard!! I guess it makes sense that the other animals were not out and about...I mean some crazy child would've probably fed the elephant a snickers or something....but, I really think they should have advertised that we wouldn't see animals! Lani was so excited about getting candy...She would open up her bag and say "Trick-or-Treat..Trick-or-Treat." Evenwith out the animals we did have a great time, and they did give out some really good candy!!!

Fun Times!!!!

Saturday night we had friends over to play Rock Band. We had so much fun. Lani had tons of fun too. Amber brought her extra guitar and Lani couldn't wait to get her hands on it. We plugged it in - actually- we hid the plug behind the cabinet door and she thought she was playing right along.

She really couldn't wait to play the drums either...

On Sunday we had a great time at the SC State Fair! We went with my mom, Rick, Emily and Scott. Lani loved riding rides this summer at the beach and she was so excited about getting to ride again. At Family Kingdom they had this little rollercoaster and she rode it 6 times. There were only like 2 other kids riding it, so they let her ride over and over again. I was nervous about her riding it at first, but she was excited about it, so we let her ride. So ~ When we saw this ride~the exact same roller coaster she rode in Myrtle Beach~We decided to let her ride again. Lani was excited about it to....

However, the ride went around once and she did not have the same reaction as before....I think this pic is priceless...They had to stop the ride and let her off...The rest of the day she was (and me and Jarod) were a little more cautious about the other rides she rode.... I feel kind-of bad that Dax was left out of this blog. But he slept through all the excitement Saturday night. At the fair he was as happy as could be riding around in his stroller. I'm so thankful he is such a happy and content baby!!!

Lani makes me laugh...

So last night, we were doing our usual thing....Reading books, then saying prayers and all of a sudden Lani said "Mommy open your eyes." Lani said Mommy I need a baby sister. I then explained to her that she has a baby brother. She then said well Dax needs a baby sister too and we can tickle her and say hey baby sister. I'm thinking in my head that's definetly not going to happen!!! So I said what if you had another baby brother. Lani said "well I already have one of those I need a sister. Let's go to the store and get one!" As we were driving to daycare this morning Lani looked over at Dax and asked..Dax do you want a new baby sister to tickle? She also added in there that Dora and Boots have a baby brother and a baby sister. Oh yeah...We read the Big Sister Dora book...at the end of the story, Dora is suprised because her mom had twins - a litttle boy and a littel girl...I think we are going to hide this book!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just Being Random...

1-So, I'm so excited about Lani and Dax's Halloween costumes...Dax is the cutest little Dinosaur..Well at first he was going to be a lego and I'm very confident that I could hav emade the costume, but I completely lost interest and decided to buy one...Lani was going to be Bat Girl...Yes Bat Girl...It took some convicing that all the Cinderella costumes were broke :), only because the Bat Girl costme was pretty darn cute. However, we got home..the dress was too long on her and you couldn't tell she was a girl, so back to the store it went...I then picked up the cutest little butterfly costume... I like it better that Bat Girl..and it's so much more girly...

2-I can definetly Rock out on the Rock Band Drums!!! I'm not so good at the guitar, but I really think I could hang with a real Rock Band if I played the drums :)

3-I know so many people right now that are having to deal with Crazy Drama!! I can't believe all the terrible things I have been hearing. I have made it a priority to pray for these people every day!!! I hope things get better for all of them!!

4-I can't believe Lani and Dax are getting so big...Dax says "Hey Daddy"and tonight he said "night, night"..So Sweet...

5-I have really been watching Noggin all night....both of my children are in the bed and it is still palying on my TV...I need more adult time....

6-I need a maid..I love having a clean, organized house; however..I never seem to have the time to get everything done...

7-HaHa...Jarod will be 30 next year...I spent all day yesterday reminding Jarod that this will be the last Birthday that he will be 20 something...

8-Do Beta Fish really live this long....Lani's poor fish....would it be completely wrong to flush a fish that's still falpping it's fins...Just teasing...I'm just not a good pet owner....

9-I've been a slack picture taker lately....I need to get more serious about this situation.....

10-I love football season!!!!

Very Emotional...

So for the past few days, I have been filled with all kids of emotions. I decided to change Lani and Dax's daycare....deep down I know it was the right thing to do, but it was still hard. Lani was very attached to her teachers and she has learned a lot...Dax is extremely adjusted and doesn't cry after me when I leave and he's very attached so I left with a good feeling everyday. However, we went and visited the new daycare today and I felt even better about my decision. Lani walked into her class room sat down and immediately began playing with playdough...A little boy threw something across the table and she picked it up and looked up and me and said Mommy it's not nice to throw things. She then told me to take Dax to his room and that she would see me later...Today has been seven years since my dad passed away. I have thought about him a lot today and how I wish he were still here and able to love Lani and Dax. He was great and I miss him a lot. ~ I took on a new role at work and it's not nearly as exciting as I thought it would be...So maybe I need to get on my with my pity party, but I think things are going to get better. At least I dont' have to worry about Lani adjusting to her new daycare and Dax I'm sure will go with the flow...And this too shall pass....
