Obsessions of a Two Year Old...

1. Anything that Dax is playing with, touching or simply looking at!!!
2. The ABC's...I think it is great she can sing her ABC's but....Sometimes I wish she loved other songs as much!!!!
3. Well ~ We went from Dora, to The Wonder Pets, Back to Dora...Now it's Max and Ruby....I feel so sorry for Max ~ Ruby is so mean to him....
4. Painting her finger and toe nails...And they always look so cute.
5. Hairbows
6. Her swing set
7. The neighbors Trampoline
8. The Little Mermaid
9. Her "new" school. I am so thankful that Lani absolutely loves her day care!!! She can't wait to get there every morning.
10. "My Dax Baby" I know one day Dax is going to hate us...but Lani calls him "Dax Baby" and well ~ I can't believe I do it, but we call him this as well sometimes!! It is really cute to hear Lani ask "Where's my Dax baby?" and I know it doesn't sound as cute when adults say it...but oh well....

So I can't believe that I am about to post this...but oh well, I'm at the point in my life that I'm not embarrassed about stuff like this anymore. And if you know me just a little, you know that I can be a little forgetful and clumpsy....So I hope you enjoy my fun story...

Well last week was terrible at work. There was not one day last week that I took a lunch break...well that I remember and I was still working at 8:00 - FRIDAY NIGHT!!! Ok well, I was able to leave around 1:00 this afternoon and really, really needed some RETAIL THERAPY - In other words ~ I really needed to shop!!! So my first stop is Belk's ~ I decided that I could really use another bathing suit and decided to try some on!! What was I thinking ~ I had like 2 to pick from and they weren't that pretty....well I tried them on anyways. During this time, my work cell phone RANG THREE TIMES!!!! I was so angry ~ I really wanted work free ME TIME!!! So No luck finding a bathing suit and on to the next store...As I'm walking out of the store, the alarms immediately start going off. I'm thinking - What ~ I didn't even buy anything!!! In the process I put my hands on my hips and realize there is a sensor hooked to me!!!! I had forgotten to take off the bathing suit bottoms!!! So there is this girl folding clothes and I say " I just set off the alarm and told her I was trying on bathing suits and forgot to take off the bottoms. Well ~ She didnt' laugh or anything, she just asked if I wanted to buy them. No one in the store seemed to care what had happened ~ THANK GOODNESS ~ I was not in the mood to get arrested and go to jail. I really think I need a vacation!!!!

Dax is 8 months old!!!!

Dax is 8 months old today!!! He is growing up so fast and changing so much. Dax is crawling EVERY WHERE and trying to walk. He pulls himself up on the couch and will let go for a few seconds. He can also push his walking toy with wheels. Dax can say MaMa and DaDa! He said DaDa first. He is also beginning to fight back with Lani ~ He doesn't let her steal his toys nearly as much. My Terrible, Horrible, No Good......

Very Bad Day!! Well the day started ok. Just the normal things. I had a meeting this morning and really thought a parent was going to show out. Well it ends up he has a big bark, but no bite. He actually told on himself, which is great for when we go to court. Well I was on my lunch break and decided to stop by my mom's office. She works for the hospital, but a few months ago, her department moved to a new location. Anyways, as I was leaving the parking lot, a strange women decides to block the gate and flag me down. HELLO ~ I'm not that brave. I pick up the phone and yell out loud..I'm calling the police. She continues walking towards my car motioning for me to roll down my window. Well she eventually got so close that I may have bumped her with the car. It was an accident - I PROMISE!!! She eventually got the messaged and continued walking towards the traffic light. I was not about to go that way. So I stay park in this "so safe" parking lot. I called my mom outside - I really dont' know what I was thinking she could do about the situation, but at least someone else was aware!!! Anyways a few minutes later a very nice suburban picked her up...I was able to escape. So on I go ~ I had an appointment to meet with a family I haven't seen in over a week. Well ~ No one was at home!!! So I called her. It was a mess. I had this terrible feeling that something wasn't right. I go to the office to talk about it. I was advised to lay eyes on the kids. Well just as I thought ~ Someone was trying to hide something...I wish I could go into more details...but can't do it...Ok so the outcome was terrible!!! And I have to do more of what I was doing today - tomorrow!!!! I know this all sounds crazy...but I can't say a whole lot about it. Well I call home to tell J that I'm still alive and Lani is on the phone saying ~ "Mommy come to my house - I miss you" I was so mad, because I wanted to be home so bad...Well I made it home and seeing those 2 cute faces took all my problems away. Jarod had even cooked supper and unloaded and loaded the dishwasher...He's the best!!!!!!

Church Patriotic Service July 2, 2008

We have been so busy!!! Dax had a nice first boat ride. We rode to Clemson to watch Fireworks and Lani and Dax had a ton of fun. The next day on the boat, Dax slept for about 4 hours...Lani fell asleep sitting up in a chair. We had a great time at Betty's house too....Maybe a little to much fun....We haven't done ANYTHING today and it has been GREAT!!!

Happy Fourth of July

Happy Fourht Everyone. Lani is probably going to start thinking we are going to watch fireworks everyday!!! It's not even the fourth yet and we have already seen fireworks three times since Saturday and we still have abusy weekend planned....Tonight we went out of the boat with Mom, Rick, Scott and Emily and watched fireworks in Clemson, tomorrow - boat ride/cook-out with Jarod's parents...Saturday....Party at Betty's house....Sunday - Church and then a LONG afternoon nap!!!! I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!!!!!!!!!!
