A Few Thoughts...

1 - J finished school this past Monday!!! YAY~ He now has his MBA!!! WOO HOO

2 - Dax is cutting 3 teeth!!! He also got his first pair of Nike's this weekend! They are super cute!!

3 - When I got to day care today, Lani was in time out. She decided to ignore her teacher's when they asked her to do something! We had to have a serious talk about this. She was really embarrassed and hopefully she learned her lesson!!

4 - I closed out my the very first case I got when I started DSS. It is a success story!! I can't go into a lot if details, but I am extremely proud of this family. Situations like this really make me enjoy my job and help me realize that I really can make a difference.

5 - If you are interested in having a Tupperware Party just let me know...You can earn lots of free stuff! Just thought I would throw that in!!!

My mom's the best...

So my mom just bought me tickets to se NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK in Charlotte on October 30th! I am so super excited!!! I love NKOTB!! When I was in the third grade, my teacher wrote on my progress report that I thought too much about New Kids on The Block and not enough about school. Well ~ The next day she called my name to turn in my SIGNED progress report, so I lied and said I turned it in already! Can you believe she actually believed me!!! I don't think I have ever mentioned this to my parents before, and I still feel completely quilty about this lie!! Anyways ~ My dad, who was so awesome ~ Camped out on the side of the road in downtown Anderson all night to get me tics to the concert when I was in the fourth grade!! We were like on the 8th row and it was so great! So ~ YAY ~ I can't wait!!!! I'm also excited about seeing Hootie and The Blowfish Thursday night and my hubby's the best for taking me there! Well ~ I'll fill ya'll in on all the fun later!!!

First Tooth! and looking for shoes.

Well ~ Dax has his first tooth. It is so cute :) He is also trying to walk everywhere! I have beenon the look out for him some shoes. Most people think I'm crazy, but Lani had shoes on her feet like everyday and she walked at 8 months old. Dax has been a lot more shoe free. Not because I want him too, but boy shoes can be so ugly. We were looking for him some shoes Sunday and they are either black or covered in velcro. It's so much easier to buy shoes for girls. In fact Lani got the cutest black boots at Shoe Carnival for $5. Well what did they have for Dax...Blue and yellow light up Skechers...yeah right..I was not about to bring those to my house!!!

Obsessions of a Two Year Old...

1. Anything that Dax is playing with, touching or simply looking at!!!
2. The ABC's...I think it is great she can sing her ABC's but....Sometimes I wish she loved other songs as much!!!!
3. Well ~ We went from Dora, to The Wonder Pets, Back to Dora...Now it's Max and Ruby....I feel so sorry for Max ~ Ruby is so mean to him....
4. Painting her finger and toe nails...And they always look so cute.

9. Her "new" school. I am so thankful that Lani absolutely loves her day care!!! She can't wait to get there every morning.
10. "My Dax Baby" I know one day Dax is going to hate us...but Lani calls him "Dax Baby" and well ~ I can't believe I do it, but we call him this as well sometimes!! It is really cute to hear Lani ask "Where's my Dax baby?" and I know it doesn't sound as cute when adults say it...but oh well....

You are going to LAUGH!!

So I can't believe that I am about to post this...but oh well, I'm at the point in my life that I'm not embarrassed about stuff like this anymore. And if you know me just a little, you know that I can be a little forgetful and clumpsy....So I hope you enjoy my fun story...

Well last week was terrible at work. There was not one day last week that I took a lunch break...well that I remember and I was still working at 8:00 - FRIDAY NIGHT!!! Ok well, I was able to leave around 1:00 this afternoon and really, really needed some RETAIL THERAPY - In other words ~ I really needed to shop!!! So my first stop is Belk's ~ I decided that I could really use another bathing suit and decided to try some on!! What was I thinking ~ I had like 2 to pick from and they weren't that pretty....well I tried them on anyways. During this time, my work cell phone RANG THREE TIMES!!!! I was so angry ~ I really wanted work free ME TIME!!! So No luck finding a bathing suit and on to the next store...As I'm walking out of the store, the alarms immediately start going off. I'm thinking - What ~ I didn't even buy anything!!! In the process I put my hands on my hips and realize there is a sensor hooked to me!!!! I had forgotten to take off the bathing suit bottoms!!! So there is this girl folding clothes and I say " I just set off the alarm and told her I was trying on bathing suits and forgot to take off the bottoms. Well ~ She didnt' laugh or anything, she just asked if I wanted to buy them. No one in the store seemed to care what had happened ~ THANK GOODNESS ~ I was not in the mood to get arrested and go to jail. I really think I need a vacation!!!!

Dax is 8 months old!!!!

Dax is 8 months old today!!! He is growing up so fast and changing so much. Dax is crawling EVERY WHERE and trying to walk. He pulls himself up on the couch and will let go for a few seconds. He can also push his walking toy with wheels. Dax can say MaMa and DaDa! He said DaDa first. He is also beginning to fight back with Lani ~ He doesn't let her steal his toys nearly as much.
