Wacky Wednesday

Wednesday was hot!  Harper and I went shopping, because she wasn't happy on the beach, but Lani and Dax played and played on the beach.  I came back to this.  Two kids, peacefully sleeping!!

After my shopping trip, I decided I needed a quick snack.  An Orange Breeze milkshake hit the spot.  And guess what it was happy hour, so it was half price - which made it even better.  I might even get another one today!!

We didn't go anywhere last night.  We stayed in, ordered pizza from Hungry Howie's, then let the kids play on the beach and in the pool again!  Oh and took pics on the lifeguard stand!

Tales from Tuesday....

Tuesday morning started out cloudy, so we decided to have an early morning photo shoot.
Dax and Lani love each other in this pic!  No really, they love each other 90% of everyday.

Lani loves having her pic made!
Love this one!
Dax, well - Dax is Dax and when I say let me take your picture, this is what I get!  Love this boy!!
When we officially made it to the beach, we decided to fly kites.  This held their attention for about thirty seconds.  Dax let go of his kite and ran back to the ocean.  Lani held hers for about a minute and then decided I needed to do something with it.  So we attached them to our E Z up tent and they flew by themselves for the rest of the day!
This little girl had to sit in time-out not once, but twice.  Someone didn't want to use their listening ears today.  She was very unhappy when I took this pic.  Probably because she knew it would end up on the Internet and the world would know about her time-out!

Dax loves the beach!

Harper had a good day on the beach too.  Debbie found a very useful bassinet at a yard sale, and Harper has enjoyed it.  We are inside right now though, because there is no breeze and Harper was hot and unhappy.  So girl time inside for mommy and Harper right now.  Who knows we might go on a shopping trip :)
Tuesday night, we headed to Broadway at the Beach.  Let me tell you - I am a people person and love being around people, people watching, I just love people.  Maybe I'm getting old, but there were too many people at Broadway last night!!!  We ate at Johnny Rockets, Lani built a bear, and Dax built a car.

Lani got a Johnny Rockets pin for dancing with the servers.  She loves this place!

Lani introducing the would to "Beach Cat."  Yes, this is her official name on her birth certificate.

Dax is very proud of his car.  Jarod said he loved building it and when he put on the first tire, he got so excited!!!

First Day on The Beach!

Harper was happy and loved sleeping in her bassinet!

Lani loved the ocean!

Dax loved the Sand!

We have been busy bees this past week.  Last week, I took the kids to Chick-Fil-A, where we met my aunt Betty and my cousin, Brett.  Well, L and D go play on the play ground and all of a sudden, Dax gives me a surprise.  He decides to take his diaper off in the play equipment and bring it to me at our table!  The good news - it was a clean diaper.  The bad news - I couldn't tell him it was bad because everyone was laughing so hard, which made me giggle a little.  I had to take him to the bathroom, put the diaper back on and asked him why he did that and tell him he made a bad choice and needs to keep his diaper on.  His response "I wanted to."  He has never done this at home and will cry when I try to but underwear on him.  Oh well, I hope it doesn't happen again!

I spent Saturday in a phonics training.  I have to admit, I learned a lot!  What did I learn?  That I have a huge southern accent and haven't always pronounced my letter sounds correctly.  I came home and quizzed J, and he made the same mistakes I did!  We were trained on Zoo-Phonics, so beginning in August my sweet little 2 year old's, will have a fun, animal filled way of learning the alphabet!  While I was at training, J went with his mom and dad and took the kids to Gatti Town.  I heard Lani was somewhat of a drama queen, but everyone had a great time!

Sunday we decided to take the kids on their first bowling trip!  Lani seems to have natural bowling skills!  She held the ball correctly, threw the ball hard, and was beating me for most of the game!  Dax was so funny!  He would throw the ball, the ball would slowly roll, and roll, and roll, and roll and about 1 minute later a few pins would fall down.  At that time, he would throw his little arms in the air , yell "I did it!" then, hug or give us a kiss!  Too Cute!  Harper just enjoyed being there and took everything in.

This week, we have been to the dentist - Twice!  Lani loves the dentist, so no big deal there.  I did take Dax back in the room with her, so he could see what happens at the dentist.  I have made an appointment for Dax to get his teeth cleaned now too!  We also made a trip back to Chick-Fil-A and everyone kept their diapers/clothing on this time!!!  We also have VBS this week, which has been a lot of fun!!

Oh, and we returned library books and decided to check out some more!  When I was in Elementary School, this lady would come and read us books every week or so.  Well she used to do this thing and we would "go on a bear hunt."  It was so much fun and I have tried and tried to remember how it went to teach it to L and D.  Well I found the going on a bear hunt book at the library yesterday and it all came back to me!!!   I can't wait to teach it to them!

What am I doing today?  Washing clothes and packing for the beach!  We will be beach bound on SUNDAY!!! WOOHOOO!!!!

Lani stood like this the entire time - she didn't want anyone getting her ball!

Jarod and Dax waiting for the ball to knock down some pins

Dax giving "I did it" kisses!

Toy Story 3

Lani, Dax, Harper, Emily, My Aunt Betty and my two cousins  Brooklyn and TJ went to see Toy Story 3 yesterday.  I'm excited because this is the FIRST movie Lani and Dax have both been able to make it through at the movie theatre.  Lani has done OK in the past, but Dax just hasn't been ready for that, well until yesterday.  Oh, and Harper, well she slept through the entire movie!  I do have one complaint.  Just keep in mind that the theatre was not full at all - I mean there were empty seats and rows everywhere.  My crew took up over half a row - there were only five seats left in the row we were in.  I had Harper sitting beside me in her carrier and this girl, probably around 8, basically sits on top of Harper.  When the girl pulled the seat down, she was basically sitting on Harper's head.  I told the girl, I need to move my baby.  Did she get out of her seat? No!  She then told her mom, there is a baby in this spot and the girl moved down a seat.  The mom basically shrugged her shoulders about my baby and made her child move back to the seat.  At this point the movie had already started and to move my crew of 8, would have been ridiculous.  These people could have sat anywhere and not on top of my baby.  At that point, I had Harper directly in front of me and my legs and feet all in Dax's territory. Ugh - I'm over it now though :)  Has anyone else seen this movie.  I hate to admit this, but I cried at the end!!  I won't give anything away, but if you go see it - take your tissue's!!!

I'm sure most of you read about my Similac Uh-Oh last week.  Well, Jarod sent them an email and never heard anything back.  Well, today he decides to give them a call and let them know they need to change their labels, we bought the wrong stuff, our child cried for two days because of this - you get the idea.  Well he was super nice to the Similac people about it and they were super nice back.  They told Jarod they would send us a refund check, since we bought the wrong formula.  I do feel a little guilty though, because I had a sample of Enfamil and decided to give it a try.  Harper seems to like the Enfamil better and she isn't nearly as gassy, so Enfamil may now be my formula of choice.  YAY for Refunds!!!

~Splish, Splash~

We went swimming Wednesday and guess who stayed awake!  She even went for a quick dip in the pool!

Thursday, July 8, 2010

Uh-Oh, that's all I can say and feel really, really bad!!  For the past two days, Harper hasn't been herself.  She has been really fussy and gassy.  The nights have been terrible, we haven't slept much the past few nights.  I mean, Harper went from sleeping 7 hours straight to waking up every hour!  Today, as I went to fix her a bottle, I noticed something!  I bought the wrong formula!!!!  Harper takes Similac - it is in a white container, with a blue lid and a little shield on the label.  What does the Similac I bougth look like - It is in a white container, with a blue lid and a little shield on the label.  What is so different??  Well, at the bottom of the label it says - for babies 9-24 months, to help with their bigger immune systems!  I feel terrible - I should have read the label better!  No wonder she has been upset, I changed her formula and didn't even know it!  We are about to head to the store to buy the correct formul and hopefully her belly will feel better soon.  When we get home, I'm considering sending an email to the Similac people to tell them that maybe their formula containers and labels should look different for different products!

4th Festivities

We had a very fun and busy weekend, celebrating the return of a friend, Brooklyn's Birthday and Fireworks with friends to celebrate America's Birthday!

Saturday started at Melissa's parents dock to celebrate the return home of her hubby, Glenn. He joined the National Guard and has been away at basic training.

~Lani hanging out on the dock~

Jarod and Dax going for a swim!

Lani loved riding this!!
Dax loved riding the jet-ski too.

We left the dock and headed to Brooklyn's birthday party.  The kids played in kiddie pools, on slip -n- slides, with water balloons and busted a pinata. However, my camera battery died and I don't have any pics.

We made a quick pit-stop at home, got ready and headed to Pendleton to watch fireworks with the Hix's.  We also saw 90% of my family there :)

Dax and Hayley waiting on the fireworks!

Jarod and Harper!
Look at this!!  Harper got her toes painted for the first time!!!!

Sunday afternoon we went swimming at Jarod's parents dock and then went out on the lake with my mom and Rick to look for more fireworks.

Monday: We were early risers and headed to Helen, GA to tube down the river.  Harper spent the day with Mam maw and Poppa. Lani, Dax and I enjoyed the day with my Mom, Rick, Emily and Emma.  I wish Jarod could have been off and went with us too!!  Dax wasn't sold on the tubing experience at first, but he eventually warmed up.  Lani was connected to GiGi's tube and had a great time!!

Tuesday, we had a day of rest!!!

Me, Being Random Again

So What have we been up too? I have been forgetting my camera lately, so not too many pics from our adventures. We have been swimming (of course), played/ate at Chick-Fil-A, played outside, watched movies, attempted shopping.
Oh, good news - I did resign from DSS - WOOHOO. Beginning in August I will be working at our church/Lani & Dax's pre-school part time! I'm really excited about it!!
Hope you enjoy the random pics.

I love this dress!!!

We did attempt to catch lightning bugs one night, but it was unsuccessful!! We saw a few, but couldn't catch them. By the way, what's up with the lightning bug population? When I was little lightning bugs were every where - Now, I think they are becoming extinct.

It has been so hot outside, so we have been spending a lot of time indoors. Candy Land has helped us get through some days. However, Dax looses interest after 2 minutes and Lani wants to win every game. Of course, I don't let her win every game - I have to win some too :) Wonder where she gets her competitive nature from?:) It would be from me and J, neither one of us likes to loose when playing games.

Look What Harper Can Do....Hold Her Toy!!!!
