Boy or Girl....

So I have these orange pair of overalls with a tiger paw on them that Lani and Dax have bene able to wear. Lani wore them to her first Clemson game in 2006. During our entire time in Clemson, people called her a boy....even thought she had pink flower earings in. Well, I debated on the idea of Dax wearing these same overalls...If you know anything about Jarod....then if Lani wore it, that means it is girl clothes and Dax doesn't need to wear them. Well, I decided that since Lani was called a boy, then it would be safe outfit for Dax to wear. Big mistake...everyone around us thought he was a girl. I'm convinced it was probably because he had a tiger paw painted on his face, so that will never happen again. Here's a few pics of Lani and Dax sportin the overalls....

Proud Mommy

So I have to brag on Lani a little..Today when I got to school to pick Lani up, Ms. Amber said she wanted to talk to me about Lani's progress report. I have to admit I was a little nervous, because I immediately thought "oh no who did she push today." Well, we started talking about all the things they have been working on. Well she received a 100% on her ABC's...no surprise...that's like her favorite song....100% on counting from 1 - 10....And here's where I was completely shocked 100% on countin 1-10 in SPANISH!!!! I had no idea she could do that....Now that we know she can do it....she has been counting all evening!!! She did however mess up on a few colors...she gets orange and yellow confused...and brown completely threw her off. She got 100% on animal sounds...and she got a 90% on shapes...she confuses rectangles and squares as well. But over all I think she did great!! I am very pleased at what she is learning at "her new school."

WeEkEnD!!!!!

We had a busy weekend ~ Well Friday started with a call form daycare...Lani was being a drama queen and did not want to take a nap at school. Her teacher called me and I had to talk her into taking a nap by explaining that she wouold not go to the football game unless she listened to her teachers and took a nap. Through her crying and sniffles she replied " with ok mommy, I love you." Ms. Amber said she went righ to sleep when we got off the phone. When I picke dher up, she was quick to say she could go to the game, because she took a nap. Saturday we had a family reunion, Connor's birthday party and Lori's 4oth birhtday. Sunday we went to church and had a lunch with the college kids after. Enjoy the pics...I'm a little behind, so there's a few from last week end as well....

More cuteness..

Dax always wakes up in the happiest mood. I love it in the mornings ~ He is always so happy and loving and he loves to cuddle. Well he has just gotten really good at clapping his hands. He's been doing it for a while, but now he's an expert. Well he claps his little hands all the time. This morning I looked in at him while he was sleeping and he was even clapping his hands in his sleep. His arms were stretched out over his head and he was clapping away.
I haven't got used to this colder weather in the mornings yet, and I didn't put a jacket on either one of them yesterday morning. I know ~ I just wasn't thinking. Well when they went outside to play Lani had to wear a jacket out of the lost and found. She was not going to let that happen again. As soon as she woke up this morning she kept saying "I need my life jacket." I went on to explain that she was not going swimming today and she did not need her life jacket. She then led me to her closet and said "mommy, I need the pink one with the flowers on it." She continued the rest of the morning referring to it as her life jacket. Dax needed his life jacket as well. Then she was worried about me because I didn't put my life jacket on. It made me giggle, with her calling them life jackets, because what would people think if we walked into daycare with our life jackets on. That would never happen, but I just had this mental picture of us wearing life jackets all winter and thought it was funny.

Morning Madness

On any normal day, Me, Lani and Dax are rushing to get out of the house, get to daycare and then to work. Jarod leaves while we are still asleep, but if either one of them is awake, he helps feed them or someting. There are lots of days that I think, I should get up earlier and it wouldn't be such a rush, but that never happens. However, one day I was up like 45 minutes earlier and still walked out of the door at the same time and still felt rushed. So if it's not going to make a difference, I prefer to sleep an extra 45 minutes. Well, Lani loves to sing! She sings her ABC's all of the time and her current favorite is , bringing home my baby bumble bee. Every morning on the way to daycare, she is the happiest thing and singing the entire way. Yesterday morning I enjoyed her version of Old McDonald. Lani decided that Old McDonald and BINGO were the same song. Here are her Lyrics...Old McFarmer had a pig, with an oink here and an oink there, BINGO was his name-O. I tried joining her to help her sing Old McDonald had a farm, but she continued with : Old McFarmer had a cow, B-I-N-G-O and Moo-moo was her name. She's a little confused, but it sounded so cute.

What will she say next...

Well Lani got an umbrella the other day and has been wanting it to rain for a few days. Well yesterday as I was loading the car Lani looked outside and saw that it was wet. She was like Mommy, I need my umbrella. So I got it out of the closet and opened it up for her to use. Well she gets outside and well..No rain...Lani then looks toward Heaven and begins yelling " Jesus, turn on the rain!" She looked at me and was like where's the rain. I explained that Jesus decided for the sun to shine and that maybe it will rain later. Then she looks up again and says "Jesus, Turn on the rain right now." I had the same conversation with her and put her in the car. About 2 miles down the road, Lani says...Mommy...Jesus isn't listening to me. Well a few days ago...Lani had spaghetti at school. She was a little upset, because the fish on her shirt were dirty. Miss Amber told me when I picked her up that she was worried about her dirty shirt. Amber explained ot her that her mommy or daddy would wash her shirt when she got home. Lani then told her that "her mommy washes clothes, but her daddy watches football."

A Football Game and a Birthday Party....

This weekend Lani and Dax went to their first Clemson Football Game! It was really hot, but we survived the day with two HAPPY children. We tailgated then sat in Heaven - Well it felt like Heaven because our seats were like at the very top of the stadium!! I don't think we have ever had seats that bad...We left at the beginning of teh fourth quarter - mostly because I was hot and tired...Dax was also a little red! On Sunday we went to Emily's 13th Birthday party. Lani had tons of fun and tried her best to fit in with those girls..

Does this really happen?

So I was reading American Baby magazine and came across a very interesting small article. I don't remeber specifically what it was called, but basically it was saying how to remember to take your child out of the car. Tip #1 - Place you bag in the back seat, so when you get your bag, you will see your baby. Tip #2 - Put a stuffed animal in your child's car seat - when you buckle your child in, put the stuffed animal in the front seat, so when you see this animal you will remember your child! I work for DSS and I see a lot of crazy things, but I have no idea, how you can forget your small child is in the car with you! Has anyone ever done this or heard of this? I mean sometimes I'm riding down the road and think Lani and Dax should be with me and they are not, but I have never forgotten that they were in the car with me!!! It went on to say that children can die in a car that over heats -HELLO - COMMON SENSE!!!! This really just got on my nerves!!! I can't believe the author of this article would think that if you can't remember your child that you would possibly remember your purse or a stuffed animal.....ugh...

First Night of Awana's..

So last night Lani started Awana's at church ~ She is a Puggle. She is groing up so fast. When I used to work in Awana's, she used to lay their in her little car seat and sleep while all the action was going on, and now she is old enough to participate!! When we got home last night, she kept saying "Mommy, I went to Awinnie's" It was so funny. I would correct her and say no, you went to Awana's, but she still want to call it Awinnie's.

5 reason why my husband rocks!!!

1-I have had a total of 5 cars during our 4 year marriage..Maybe I'm a little spoiled...

2-He has taken me to see Hootie and the Blowfish like 8 times...

3-He wrote me a song when he proposed..I'm talking lyrics and piano music...

4-He usually doesn't complain about doing the dishes

5-It is 9:49 right now...He left at 9:08 to buy me the new New Kids on the Block CD that was released today...We did need a few other things, but it def. could have waited until tomorrow...

This probably should have been titled...5 reasons I am so spoiled - but that's ok....
